'Maestros'
Vienna, Austria
2018
In 2018, I was invited to participate in the Free Street urban art festival in Vienna. That same year marked the centenary of the deaths of Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele, and the festival organizers suggested I make a nod to this anniversary.
Personally, I have always felt a deep admiration for the work of these two great masters of painting, so that suggestion ended up becoming the central concept of the mural. I felt it was the perfect opportunity to pay homage and express my gratitude for the influence their work has had on me, doing so in their own city.
Through my visual language, I tried to reinterpret some elements and sensibilities present in their paintings, bringing that inspiration into my artistic universe and establishing a dialogue between their legacy and my understanding of contemporary imagery.
